Both litters have arrived. Yesterday, Sage kindled 5 blacks...I was disappointed that there weren't any grays, but this is a nice litter.
This morning Pookie surprised me with 6 torts and 2 black. (pictured above)
I am very pleased.     Anybody needing a bunny? :)

The picture to the left is of my newest bunny.
I'm not even sure whether it's a he or she yet, but I'll figure it out soon enough.

A month ago I didn't have any plans of raising grey Dutch, but they have hopped into my lap as you might say. :-)

Spring is here and it is time to renovate and clean the rabbitry.....fun! I can think of a few things more appealing than scrubbing rabbit cages....
Along with Spring comes all the wonderful plants that the rabbits love, Dandelions, Plantain, Clover and grass. Morning chores now include picking a bucket of "bunny greens".

Just 8 more days till babies!

Earlier this month I bought an adorable tort doe, around 8 weeks old.
And last week I found a gray (my first) doe at the auction. I am always leary about buying rabbits at auctions, but she looked healthy and was so pretty! How could I pass her up?

After a lot of considering, I have decided to sell my Silver Martens and go all Dutch.
I am hoping to expand to 2 bucks and 6 does, which will fill my 8 holes. I am one buck and 2 does away.
I am trying to keep away from the black Dutch and go mostly with the blue and the tort. But of course the gray doe foiled that plan. :-)

I currently have 2 does bred, and they are expecting on the 27th of April.
Spring is here!

This morning I went out to find a nestbox full of hair, babies in the nest and two babies outside the nest. Thankfully, they were still alive, so I took them, held them in some warm water and they revived quickly!

They also got a nice snuggle on the heating pad. :-)

Pretty soon I will have 8 little bunners jumping around their pen. Fun fun!

April 15th I picked up my new rabbits.
I went to buy a pair or trio of Silver Martens and I came home with a grown pair of Silver Martens and a young Jersey Wooly buck.

They are all so pretty! The doe was 2 weeks pregnant so she is due the 27th.

I am hoping to find a Jersey Wooly doe to breed to my buck.

Well, Pookie finally popped on day 32.
I went out this morning to find a nestbox full of hair, and 7 babies!!!
She is a first time momma, so I am very impressed with her. It looks like the are mostly black, with maybe 1 blue. No torts.....oh well. :-)

I will get some pictures soon.
Have a great day!

Today I sold 3 of my bunnies.
I am glad to be finally making a little money on these rabbits, not much...but a little.

Still nothing with Miss Pookie, I think tomorrow is her 31st day so she is most likely to do it then. :)

CB's kits have their eyes open now. woohoo. I might post some pictures tomorrow.

Nothing happening with Pookie yet. Her food consumption has gone down a little, so maybe pretty soon.

Haddies kits (are they kits anymore?) :-) will be weaned tomorrow.
I'm going to leave the 2 smallest ones on her for a few more days to help dry her up.
Have a good day!

Yesterday I put the nest box in with Pookie and she went crazy stuffing the box as full of hay as she could. Hopefully I will have kits waiting for me one of these mornings. I am really wanting a couple torts, but I will probably get all black.

This will be Pookies first litter, so as long as the kits are healthy and growing, I don't care what color they are.

Trying to gather as much hay in one mouth full as she can.
